We Haven’t Lost the Country (Yet)

“If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may even be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
Winston Churchill
I admit it, we suffered a huge setback for freedom with the election of Senator Obama to the Presidency. Dictators and Leftists around the world and in our own country are crowing about the pending demise of Capitalism. What is left unsaid, of course, is the abject failure of Socialism to improve people’s lives whenever and where ever it has been tried. Of course, the Leftists don’t care, because Socialism isn’t really about helping people, it’s about controlling them. But I digress.
This is still winnable. It will be hard, because the deck is stacked. Our media, the ones who were supposed to keep government accountable and serve as a protection against tyranny, have become advocates for the very tyranny they are supposed to help protect us from. Our public school system, where subjects like reading, writing, and arithmetic were taught, have become liberal indoctrination centers. Our universities, where once critical thinking skills were taught, have become indoctrination centers for Socialism, where people like Karl Marx are admired while our Founding Fathers are disparaged.
In spite of this, I am still hopeful. The liberals are going to over reach. They are going to interpret this election as a mandate for Communism and try to implement it. This is already happening. For example, Rep. Jim Moran (D, VA) says “the simplistic notion that people who have wealth are entitled to keep it, and they have an antipathy towards means of redistributing wealth. And they may be able to sustain that for a while, but it doesn’t work in the long run.” Some Democrats are talking about a government takeover of people’s 401(k) accounts. Chuck Schumer (D, NY) and others are talking about suppressing free political speech through imposition of the (un) Fairness Doctrine.
As a person who believes in Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, I find such ideas very distressing. The fact that they are being proposed by by government officials makes me sick to my stomach. But, they are showing their true colors, and I believe it will be a wake up call to all Americans who still believe in the values embodied in our Constitution.
The only reason Obama won the election is because our so-called Free Press deliberately suppressed the truth about him. The truth about his associations, the truth about his background, the truth about his positions on various issues, and the truth about his intentions for this country. If the truth had been proclaimed, we would not now be facing an Obama Presidency.
The solution is to make sure the truth is proclaimed and enforced. If you believe in the concepts and values that our beautiful country was founded on, you need to become a part of this. Waiting for the Republicans to get their act together is not going to cut it. If that is your plan, you might as well just surrender our country now. I hope you’re not willing to do that.
Now is the time that we need to get to work. Educate yourself, then educate your friends and acquaintances. Demand accountability and accuracy from newspapers. Write letters – to newspaper editors, to your Congress critters, and to companies that advertise on networks that spread lies and misinformation. If you have children, become involved in their education. Demand accountability from the schools. If you are in a position to change careers, consider a career in journalism or politics.
We can still win. We must work for it. Together we can take back our country.
Cheers,
Ken
