Better Listen While You Can

That is if you enjoy Conservative talk radio. It looks like it’s days may be numbered. Left wing extremists like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi (also here) have been calling for a reinstatement of the (un) Fairness Doctrine for some time, and now it looks like Obama is going to appoint a supporter of the Doctrine as head of the FCC.
Reading opinions of Leftists on the Internet, they are going to frame it as a “civil rights” issue. According to their thinking, people have a “right” to hear the liberal point of view, so any radio station airing a Conservative talk show must “balance” it by giving equal time to a talk show espousing the liberal point of view.
That is a load of crap. It’s like requiring churches to provide pornography to “balance” their message. People already have a choice. If they don’t like listening to Conservative talk radio they can tune into another station. As a matter of fact, it turns out there already is a liberal radio network. It’s called “National Public Radio” and it’s taxpayer funded. So not only do liberals get to have their own radio network, they don’t even have to pay for it themselves. The taxpayers pay for it!!! Just like the taxpayers have to pay for all of the liberals’ bizarre schemes.
It’s not really about fairness, it’s about control. Radical liberals want to control what you are allowed to listen to. Also, since many of their ideas for the US are intellectually and morally bankrupt, not to mention un-Constitutional, they can’t stand up to criticism. Therefore, criticism must be silenced. Obama himself has proven he’s not averse to using the power of the state to intimidate and silence critics.
I am in shock that things have come so far in our country. This is the kind of thing that happens in Russia or North Korea, not in the United States. That these people could take the First Amendment – our guarantee of free speech and a free press – a method by which the government can be held accountable to the people – and twist it around as a means of protecting the government from criticism by We the People – is outrageous.
These people are subverting our Constitution, taking away our God given liberties, and destroying our rule of law from within the very government that is supposed to protect those liberties. If we are to preserve the liberties and laws of our beautiful country, they need to be stopped. People, wake up, read our Constitution, and the very next chance you get, VOTE THE CRIMINALS OUT OF OFFICE.
