A Fundamental Lack of Understanding

You know, we keep hearing from liberals how important it is that “every vote count,” by which they usually mean that voter fraud should be ignored. It turns out, though, that there is a group of liberals who are against “every vote” counting. In fact, they’re against a vote even being held period. What’s up with that?

A collection of people in Illinois seem to believe that the Senate seat formerly held by (soon to be) President Obama “belongs” to the Black community. As such, they are opposed to a special election being held to fill the seat. They were apparently putting there hopes on (soon to be former) Governor Blagojevich appointing Jesse Jackson Jr. to the seat. Those hopes have been dashed by Blagojevich’s current legal troubles.

These people are fascinating, and not in a good way:

Meanwhile, the concerned clergy, a cadre of several dozen prominent black ministers, are “appalled” by the fallout of the sensational federal investigation. They see it as a thinly veiled attempt by white pols to hijack the seat, says Stephanie Gadlin, the coalition’s spokeswoman.

Hmmm. So the investigation of Blagojevich is some type of conspiracy to make the seat “white” again? In other words, the people conducting the investigation must be able to predict the future. After all, if it is really a plot, they must have known when they started the investigation that Obama would be elected President.

Memo to the liberal, race baiting whack jobs in Illinois: Senate seats don’t “belong” to any particular race or ideology. If you want a particular person to fill the seat, then make sure that person is the candidate of your party. The Republicans can run their candidate, and the people of your state can decide by their votes who should fill the seat. That’s how things work in a democracy. But then, liberals only believe in democracy to the extent that it serves their agenda…

Cheers,

Ken
