Dear Mr. Begala,
I found your Commentary (April 15th is patriots’ day) on today’s CNN web site to be insulting and disgusting. Your insinuation that people who are opposed to the tax increases (and federal takeover of the private sector) are unpatriotic, Fox News lackeys is disgusting. I don’t work for Fox news. Unlike you, I have served in the military. Unlike many in Obama’s Cabinate, I have paid my taxes every year without fail and without cheating, my entire working life. I am paying my fair share. All I ask in return is that the government leave me alone and allow me to live my life as I see fit.
Unfortunately, Obama and the other leftist now running this country won’t leave it at that. They want to strip me and all Americans of our right to keep and bear arms. Freedom of speech is also under attack. According to Obama’s Department of Homeland Security, anyone expressing a political opinion contrary to socialist orthodoxy is a “right-wing extremist,” a potential terrorist. Perhaps you need to go back and study the Bill of Rights. You have excellent writing skills, but you seem to lack basic reading comprehension skills.
You mention paying a “fair share” of taxes. I feel it isn’t fair that 40% of working Americans don’t pay any income tax. I wonder, how can 95% of Americans get a tax cut when only 60% are paying income tax? Never mind that Obama’s cap-and-trade energy tax will affect 100% of all Americans. So how can you say that 95% will get a tax cut? Are you lying to us, or are you simply an idiot?
Sincerely,
Ken
