Another Milestone

American dictator Barak Obama has acheived another milestone. For the first time in 26 years, the Treasury Department reported a budget deficit – $21 billion – for the month of April. The total budget deficit for the current fiscal year, which began in October 2008, stands at $802 billion, and is expected to reach $1.2 trillion by the end of the year. By comparison, the total deficit for 2008 was “only” $407 billion.

“This is historic,” said Dan Clifton, head of policy research at Strategas Research Partners. “Our country has never seen something like this.” The shortfall is not only due to reduced tax revenues, but also to vastly increased government spending by the Obama regime.  Spending is up 26% year-over-year, according to Clifton, who said the number is “astronomical. Even a fifth of that increase would have been a big deal.”

Despite the massive increase in spending, the Obama regime couldn’t find a measly $18 million to continue a successful school voucher program in Washington, D.C.
