Great Moments in Central Planning

Remember the stimulus plan that Congress passed earlier this year? You know, the $787 BILLION that was absolutely crucial to avoiding a financial Armageddon? Well, even though most of the money is yet to be spent (need to wait until next year – an election year – you know), the money that is being spent is going to the wrong places. I especially liked this:

An Associated Press analysis of the first $19 billion in transportation spending showed that communities most in need of jobs are least likely to benefit from the program.

These so called geniuses can’t even figure out how to spend prioritize the spending of “stimulus” money, and yet they tell us that the Government, not the private sector, needs to take over the banking industry, the auto industry, the health industry… God help us all if they get their greedy, grubbing hands on health care. They are already making noises about the high cost of “unnecessary” treatments – in other words, they want to ration health care.
Everything these self-serving jerks touch turns to crap. There are a few things that government does extremely well, and those are the things government should stick to. Instead, our egomaniacal “public servants” think they need to run EVERYTHING. Can someone please tell me what the hell Barney Frank knows about running a bank? What does American dictator Barak Obama know about running a car company? What do Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi know about health care? Answer: Not a damn thing. That doesn’t stop them from running ruining every aspect of our lives, all the while operating under a completely different set of rules for themselves. If we won’t wake up and vote these self-serving hucksters out of office, then you’d better get used to “shutting up and getting back in line,” because that’s where Obama and his accomplices are taking us.
